Discovering ADAS
Grab your coffee, tea, or whatever helps you relax, and let me introduce you to something new and intriguing. ADAS — short for Advanced Driving Assistance System, is a key technology that ensures the safety of drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and the environment. If you're new to this field, you'll find it increasingly fascinating as we dive deeper, so stay tuned.
Why ADAS?
By the 1960s, the world began to see the first ADAS functions, such as anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control. These technologies have since evolved to include lane assist and collision intervention, and many more features now common in many cars depending on the selected options. Don't worry if some of these terms are new to you — I'll break down each ADAS function in simple, easy-to-understand language as we go along.
Again - why ADAS?
Ah, ok, I got it, you might wonder why you're reading about ADAS here when there are plenty of resources from well-known OEMs* and global suppliers. Let me explain—this is a passion of mine. I discovered ADAS during my second year of university, and from that moment, I was hooked. While it's impossible to know everything, my goal is to keep learning, stay engaged, and continually expand my knowledge. Now, I want to share what I've learned with you. Whether you're a student exploring this industry, a friend, or a colleague who might get a laugh from my articles, I hope you find something valuable and enjoyable as you dive into the world of ADAS.
